Drilling Supervisor

About the role

The Drilling Supervisor will lead surface drilling and blasting operations at Newmont's Ahafo Mine, ensuring efficiency, safety, and alignment with production targets. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of operational performance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily surface drill and blast activities, guaranteeing tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
• Maintain explosive magazines and related facilities in accordance with regulatory and site standards.
• Ensure all drilling and blasting work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, promptly addressing violations and implementing corrective actions.
• Schedule and allocate resources—including personnel, equipment, and materials—to maximize productivity.
• Develop and execute drilling and blasting schedules to meet project timelines.
• Monitor operational performance through data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on drill and blast performance, maintenance activities, and safety metrics.

Required profile

• Visible leader capable of engaging, developing, and coaching the drill and blast team.
• Proven experience supervising drilling and blasting operations in a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and explosive handling standards.
• Ability to analyze operational data and drive continuous improvement.
