Independent Consultant – Inclusive Market Knowledge & Access (iMKA)

About the role

This 8‑month consultancy supports World Vision’s mission to improve market access for vulnerable smallholder producers. The consultant will map market actors, facilitate partnerships, and provide technical guidance to strengthen production, value‑addition, and branding of inclusive agricultural products.

Key responsibilities

• Map and develop a database of market actors, including producer groups, SMEs, and private‑sector partners.
• Facilitate structured engagements, co‑planning and co‑implementation of inclusive business models.
• Support coordinated production, aggregation, and offtake arrangements for smallholder producers.
• Conduct comprehensive mapping of post‑harvest and value‑addition infrastructure invested by World Vision.
• Provide hands‑on technical assistance and field coaching to producer groups on market‑oriented production plans.
• Assess existing value chains, design training on agro‑processing, and promote adoption of appropriate technologies.
• Develop joint branding and marketing strategies and support producer certification readiness.
• Monitor performance, document results, and prepare technical and financial reports in line with donor requirements.

Required profile

• 8‑month availability for a consultancy role.
• Experience in market actor mapping, private‑sector engagement, and agricultural value‑chain development.
• Proven ability to deliver technical coaching and production planning support to smallholder groups.
• Strong reporting skills and familiarity with donor‑driven monitoring frameworks.
