Lead Planner

About the role

Newmont is seeking a Lead Planner to support project execution across its mining operations in Ghana. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating detailed project schedules, ensuring they align with project objectives, resource availability, and timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Create and optimise detailed project schedules covering all phases and milestones.
• Collaborate with project leaders and team members to gather inputs and keep schedules up‑to‑date.
• Perform critical‑path analysis to identify key activities and dependencies.
• Track progress against schedules, flag potential delays, and recommend corrective actions.
• Adjust schedules as project scope, resources, or timelines change.
• Generate and deliver scheduling reports to senior leadership, highlighting milestones, progress, and risks.
• Facilitate planning meetings and workshops to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.
• Utilise scheduling tools and software to improve planning efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct schedule risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project planning and scheduling within large‑scale industrial or mining projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Detail‑oriented mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience with scheduling software or tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Ability to perform critical‑path and risk analysis.
