Machine Operator

About the role

GBfoods is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to ensure that production runs smoothly, meets internal quality standards, and complies with food safety regulations. You will be responsible for setting up, calibrating, and operating machinery in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate machines before each production shift.
• Verify machine interlocks and operate equipment according to defined parameters.
• Control and adjust machine settings such as speed, weight, and temperature.
• Monitor critical control points (CCP 1 and CCP 2) and hourly production output.
• Maintain 5S standards, hygiene, and complete all required records.
• Perform CIP/COP procedures at the end of the production week and document cleaning activities.
• Report raw material usage, machine stops, maintenance needs, and any food‑safety concerns.
• Oversee routine cleaning of machines and metal‑detection equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in an engineering‑related field.
• At least 2 years of proven experience operating industrial food‑processing machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and safety regulations.

Required skills

• Machine setup and calibration.
• Machine operation and adjustment of speed, weight, temperature.
• Monitoring of critical control points (CCP).
• CIP/COP cleaning procedures.
• Operation of metal‑detection equipment.
• Application of 5S standards and record‑keeping.
