Accounts Assistant

About the role

The Accounts Assistant will support the finance team of a leading hospital in Accra, handling daily banking, invoicing and ledger activities. This entry‑level position offers exposure to the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable within a fast‑paced healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily banking tasks, post deposits and reconcile collections.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable by verifying invoices, processing supplier payments and managing receipts from patients and insurance providers.
• Record transactions in the general ledger using SAP Business One, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct bank and account reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies.
• Review third‑party diagnostic service schedules and prepare payment schedules for specialists, consultants and staff medical plans.
• Maintain financial records and supporting documentation in line with hospital policies and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement during stock‑taking and with billing for claims processing.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CA Level II) is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP Business One or similar ERP/accounting software.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
