Assistant Finance Officer

About the role

The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) is seeking an Assistant Finance Officer to support the financial management of its Adolescent Service and Knowledge (ASK) programme. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, cash handling, and compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly financial returns for the ASK project.
• Maintain the cheque‑book register and conduct periodic cash counts.
• Assist in updating the asset register for the programme.
• Prepare monthly checking sheets, perform bank reconciliations, and verify project accounts.
• Compile final project accounts and support annual audit processes.
• Assist in preparing annual, quarterly, and monthly management and donor reports.

Required profile

• BSc in Administration/Accounting or equivalent, or Level 3 professional qualification.
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems and procedures.
• Proficiency with computer office suites.
• Experience using ACCPAC accounting software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• High integrity, accuracy, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Team‑player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
