Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead the creation and growth of a direct‑sales force for a nutritional products portfolio in Ghana. You will be responsible for building a high‑performing team, expanding the distributor network, and shaping sales strategy to capture market opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and train Sales Supervisors, Regional Managers and independent distributors across Ghana.
• Design and deliver product knowledge and sales skill training programmes; conduct regular one‑on‑one and group coaching sessions.
• Set SMART objectives, monitor performance, and provide continuous feedback to drive a high‑accountability culture.
• Visit distributors in the field, gather operational insights, and offer actionable support.
• Maintain ongoing communication with distributors to align on business strategy, recruitment performance, training needs and tool usage.
• Analyse sales metrics to identify high‑performing and under‑performing areas and recommend sustainable business models.
• Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends.
• Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics to inform pricing and promotional decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing and operations teams on product launches, campaigns and promotional activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, field operations, direct selling or business development.
• At least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Experience in nutritional products, health supplements, FMCG or direct‑sales environments is preferred.
• Prior work experience in Ghana or the broader West African market is an advantage.
