Civil Engineer

About the role

J.O. AGYAPONG GROUP is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design, supervision and execution of construction projects in Accra. The role ensures that all works are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate civil construction activities on site.
• Interpret and review architectural, structural and civil engineering drawings.
• Prepare and review BOQs, measurements, quantities and material requirements.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and milestones.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with QS, architectural, production and installation teams.
• Verify dimensions, levels, setting‑out and construction activities.
• Monitor materials and workmanship to ensure quality standards.
• Identify and resolve technical and site‑related issues.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and technical documentation.
• Support testing, quality checks, snagging and project handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction or building projects.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognised engineering body (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Ghanaian building and construction standards and regulations.
• Experience using an ERP or project‑management system (advantageous).

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Project.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with ERP or project‑management software.
