Development Projects Coordinator (Hospitality/QSR)

About the role

The Development Projects Coordinator will lead and coordinate end‑to‑end delivery of new builds, remodels, relocations and minor works for Masco Foods’ hospitality and quick‑service restaurant (QSR) estate across Ghana and neighboring countries. Reporting to the Head of Development, the role bridges design, engineering, procurement, contractors, landlords, authorities and internal brand teams to ensure projects are safe, compliant, on‑time and on‑budget while meeting KFC/Yum! standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full project plan from concept to handover, including scope, schedule, critical path and risk register.
• Run weekly site and contractor coordination meetings, issue minutes, actions and look‑ahead plans.
• Drive permitting processes (planning, fire, environmental, utilities) and secure landlord approvals.
• Interpret and red‑line architectural, structural and MEP drawings; manage consultant inputs.
• Prepare, review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and take‑offs.
• Control drawing versions, submittals, RFIs and maintain as‑built documentation.
• Ensure QSR brand standards for kitchen flow, drive‑through, kiosks, cold rooms and MEP loads.
• Compile tender packs, run competitive bids, evaluate proposals and recommend contractors.
• Negotiate and draft Work Orders/LOAs following FIDIC/NEC principles.
• Coordinate long‑lead items such as kitchen equipment, HVAC, signage, generators, IT/POS and cold‑chain assets.
• Enforce QA/QC plans, method statements, ITPs and material approvals.
• Monitor construction progress, workmanship and HSE compliance.
• Manage variations, claims and change control with clear cost and time impact tracking.
• Build and manage project budgets, track commitments versus actuals and forecast final cost.
• Issue weekly dashboards and monthly executive summaries on progress, risks, HSE and cost status.
• Liaise with landlords, local authorities, utilities and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate handover with Operations, Supply Chain, IT and Marketing and prepare O&M packs.

Required profile

• BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or Construction/Building Technology (strong civils exposure); professional registration (GhIE/Pr.Eng) is an advantage.
• 5–8+ years of experience delivering hospitality, QSR or retail rollout projects.
