Electrical Supervisor – Surface Mine LV Infrastructure

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor – Surface Mine LV Infrastructure will oversee the refurbishment, maintenance and condition monitoring of low‑voltage electrical assets at the Obuasi Gold Mine. The role ensures plant availability, safety and cost‑effectiveness while supporting the mine’s strategic objective of long‑term profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control LV electrical refurbishment projects to meet quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of LV infrastructure during refurbishment and subsequent maintenance.
• Develop and execute condition‑monitoring routes, including visual checks, vibration, infrared, ultrasonic, motor current and flux data collection.
• Analyse predictive‑maintenance data, trend results and generate work requests in SAP for planning and scheduling.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis and maintenance review programmes for LV equipment.
• Identify and propose cost‑reduction initiatives and savings projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, track progress and escalate potential delays.
• Monitor equipment performance on the asset‑health system and take proactive actions to prevent failures.

Required profile

• Experienced electrical professional with a background in low‑voltage mine infrastructure.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong understanding of total‑quality‑management principles and zero‑defect objectives.
• Familiarity with environmental management plans and safety regulations in mining.
