Financial Controller – Accra

About the role

The Financial Controller will act as the strategic financial leader for the property, driving financial planning, analysis and control to support Marriott’s brand objectives in Accra and Tema. This role ensures accurate accounting, robust budgeting and effective stakeholder communication to maximise return on investment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial data and market trends to forecast sales, expenses and develop annual budgets.
• Monitor actual performance against forecasts, identify variances and propose corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and improve profitability.
• Oversee tax compliance, ensuring taxes are current, collected and accrued appropriately.
• Lead internal, external and regulatory audit processes and address audit findings.
• Develop profit‑improvement initiatives by estimating costs, benefits and exploring new business opportunities.
• Prepare and present financial reports, presentations and analyses to senior management and owners.
• Provide financial insights to the General Manager and executive team, supporting strategic decisions and owner meetings.

Required profile

• 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in finance and accounting, or a master’s degree in the same field with no prior experience.
