Fractional CFO – Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

About the role

Africa Firm is looking for a highly experienced Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership across its manufacturing and production businesses. The role will focus on cost accounting, production finance, cash‑flow management, profitability improvement, ERP optimisation and financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with CEOs, General Managers and operational teams to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and long‑term financial planning.
• Design and oversee standard costing, production costing frameworks and variance analysis.
• Develop pricing, margin and profitability models; identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Manage inventory valuation, stock controls, working‑capital performance and cash conversion cycles.
• Create management dashboards, KPI reports and provide decision‑support insights.
• Optimise ERP and reporting systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and strengthen internal controls.
• Support audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, ICA or equivalent) with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• MBA, CFA, CMA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• 10+ years of senior finance leadership experience, preferably as CFO, Finance Director or Consulting CFO in manufacturing, industrial or agribusiness environments.
• Proven track record of improving profitability, cash flow and operational efficiency.
