Full-Time Gardener – Accra

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Gardener to maintain and enhance the church grounds in Accra. The role involves daily landscaping tasks, equipment upkeep, and guiding volunteers to keep the outdoor spaces welcoming and well‑kept.

Key responsibilities

• Mow lawns using hand and power mowers, and edge around walls, flower beds, and walkways.
• Plant perennials, shrubs, and trees according to the landscape plan.
• Trim and shape shrubs and trees for optimal growth and aesthetic appeal.
• Operate heavy tractors and other large power equipment when needed.
• Apply sprays for disease, weed, and insect control and perform regular fertilisation in line with regulations.
• Maintain all power equipment and machines in good working order.
• Provide guidance to volunteers on grounds maintenance.
• Water lawn and garden areas and perform any other duties assigned.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or landscaping.
• Strong physical fitness; able to lift 50 lb and perform active tasks.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.
• Minimum Senior High School certificate or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
