Human Resources Manager

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead the people strategy for IJM Ghana, ensuring a healthy, high‑performing, mission‑driven workplace. Reporting to the Director, West Africa Program and the Regional Human Resource Business Partner, the role combines strategic HR leadership with operational support across administration, IT and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain an engaged, healthy, high‑performing team by coaching supervisors, developing future leaders and promoting accountability.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across departments to strengthen organisational effectiveness and support strategic objectives.
• Support IT and administration functions and lead operational excellence across all support services.
• Collaborate with the Safety & Security Manager on employee‑related safety, security and business continuity matters.
• Lead implementation of the Ghana People Strategy, aligning people initiatives with organisational priorities and workforce needs.
• Advise the Director and Leadership Team on organisational health, workforce effectiveness, change management and culture initiatives.
• Serve as a member of the Ghana Leadership Team, contributing to strategy, workforce planning, budget development and risk management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR management, preferably within NGOs or international organisations.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on culture, talent management and performance.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop supervisors and future leaders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
• Full‑time availability based in Accra, Ghana.
