Nibs/Cake Packaging Operator

About the role

The Nibs/Cake Packaging Operator works on the cake and nibs bagging lines, ensuring products are filled, inspected, labelled and transferred safely. The role is based in Tema and reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cake and nibs bagging machines, conduct in‑line quality tests (CCP) and collect sampling according to protocol.
• Inspect finished bags for weight, defects and cleanliness; isolate and label any non‑conforming product.
• Drive a forklift to move packed product to temporary storage and coordinate with logistics and press operators.
• Clean, disinfect and perform preventive maintenance on packaging equipment and workstations.
• Print and apply SAP labels, scan pallets and record production data in MES.

Required profile

• NVTI Grade I or II in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum one (1) year post‑qualification experience in manufacturing, food processing or a similar environment.
• Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, hygiene standards and food safety requirements.
• Valid forklift licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP and MES production management systems.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to perform in‑process quality checks and critical control point monitoring.
• Forklift operation skills.
