Product Manager – API, Payments & New Business

About the role

Telecel is looking for a senior Product Manager to own and scale the Telecel Cash payment ecosystem. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding partner networks, and increasing product adoption across API, merchant payment, and bulk disbursement solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new revenue streams using emerging payment technologies such as digital currencies, blockchain and open banking.
• Build and scale a digital marketplace within the Telecel Play app and USSD channels by integrating fintech and merchant services.
• Design low‑barrier payment solutions for nano and micro merchants to boost daily transaction volume.
• Lead partnership negotiations with fintech firms, banks and third‑party providers, ensuring commercially viable agreements.
• Expand physical and virtual POS acceptance through strategic alliances and acquisition initiatives.
• Define and execute the commercial strategy for Open APIs, focusing on monetisation and developer adoption.
• Own the growth of bulk payment solutions for salaries, vendor payments and corporate disbursements.
• Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation to launch and continuous optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, SLA and AML requirements throughout product design and implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fintech or financial services.
• At least 3 years in product management or commercial leadership with demonstrable revenue impact.
