School Librarian (Full‑time)

About the role

The School Librarian will manage the library of a bilingual international school in East Legon, Greater Accra. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures students and staff have seamless access to print and digital resources while supporting curriculum delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Catalogue, classify, and maintain all library materials using metadata standards.
• Manage circulation, reservations, and returns of books and digital resources.
• Provide library instruction and information‑literacy sessions for students and teachers.
• Recommend and acquire resources that align with the school curriculum.
• Coordinate reading initiatives and promote a welcoming, inclusive library environment.
• Maintain accurate library records, monitor usage statistics, and report to school leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in library instruction or school library services.
• Diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Strong communication, organisational, and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, educators, and administrators.
