School Librarian – Full‑time

About the role

The School Librarian will manage and organise the library resources of a bilingual international school in the Greater Accra Region. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that students and staff have easy access to print and digital information and supports curriculum delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Catalogue, classify and maintain library materials, both physical and digital.
• Manage circulation, loan records and user accounts.
• Provide library instruction and information‑literacy training to students and teachers.
• Recommend and acquire resources that align with the school curriculum.
• Coordinate reading initiatives and promote a welcoming, inclusive library environment.
• Monitor usage statistics and maintain accurate library records.
• Collaborate with school leadership to continuously improve library services.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in library instruction or school library settings.
• Diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Studies, Education or a related field (preferred).
• Strong communication, organisational and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators and administrators.

Required skills

• Proficiency with library software systems.
• Knowledge of metadata standards for cataloguing.
• Basic digital tools for managing electronic resources.
