Senior Cost Estimator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to lead estimating activities for construction projects in the Accra and Tema region. The role involves translating tender priorities into detailed estimating work plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the bidding process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain estimating procedures, templates, coding structures and approval gates.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and contract conditions to produce a comprehensive estimate execution plan.
• Create work breakdown structures and cost‑code mappings that align BOQ items with drawings, specifications and temporary works.
• Direct quantity take‑off, verify client BOQs and perform reasonableness checks using geometry, benchmarks and comparable projects.
• Collaborate with operations, design and planning teams to define practical construction methods, sequencing and production assumptions.
• Build transparent unit‑rate cost models for labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and logistics.
• Identify scope gaps, long‑lead items and resource constraints early and raise material or pricing risks promptly.
• Maintain version control, peer‑review processes and confidentiality standards throughout the estimating cycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years (96 months) of experience in construction cost estimating.
• Proven ability to lead estimating teams and manage complex tender packages.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, temporary works and programme interfaces.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and risk identification.
