Shift Charge Engineer – NGL Terminal Operations

About the role

The Shift Charge Engineer will lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) terminal in Takoradi. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the role ensures optimal storage and distribution of NGL while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation and storage of NGL supplies, supervise truck loading and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Investigate operational incidents, develop corrective actions, log information in the CMMS and prepare permit‑to‑work documentation.
• Perform control‑room operations, monitor switching and isolation processes, and oversee daily equipment readings.
• Support predictive and preventive maintenance activities, maintain process data records, and participate in HAZOP and risk assessments.
• Assist in procurement of consumables, schedule gas mobile trucks, and develop training programs for staff.

Required profile

• BSc in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Petrochemical, Naval Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in midstream/downstream operations, including gas storage, loading/unloading systems and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management, OSHA/EPA regulations and industrial automation.
