About the role
The Stores Assistant will support the Stores Officer in managing day‑to‑day store operations, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective handling of commodities. The role covers receiving, storing, and disbursing medical supplies, contraceptives and other inventory items for Marie Stopes International Ghana.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and verify all incoming items, ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Assist with routine commodity supply to centres and outreach sites.
- Process receipts, issues, returns and adjustments following authorised approvals.
- Conduct regular stock counts at various centres and report discrepancies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies for disposal of expired, obsolete or unserviceable items.
Required profile
- HND in stores management, accounting or a related field (ACCA Part I or END in Accountancy is an advantage).
- Minimum 2 years post‑qualification practical experience in a similar role.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently under pressure.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
