Stores Officer – Inventory Management

About the role

The Stores Officer will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the store, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective handling of all commodities, medical supplies and contraceptives. This position is critical for maintaining inventory integrity and supporting service delivery across MSIG centres and outreach sites.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store and disburse drugs, non‑drugs, medical instruments and supplies.
• Verify incoming items, ensure proper storage conditions and temperature control.
• Process receipts, issues, returns and adjustments with appropriate authorisation.
• Conduct routine stock counts at centres and outreach locations.
• Coordinate disposal of expired or unserviceable items with regulatory bodies.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date fixed‑asset register with proper identification and labelling.
• Collaborate with the Finance Officer to reconcile monthly stock balances using the SUN accounting system.
• Value and cost materials issued to projects and support replenishment planning.

Required profile

• Degree in Stores Management, Accounting or related field (ACCA Part I or HND in Accountancy advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a similar store or inventory role.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and deliver accurate results.
