Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager will lead all direct and indirect tax obligations for Telecel Ghana, ensuring compliance with Ghanaian tax law and optimizing the company’s tax position. This senior role reports to the Finance Director and works closely with the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file all statutory tax returns (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, CST) within required deadlines.
• Act as the primary liaison with the GRA, managing tax audits, regulatory inquiries and dispute resolution.
• Develop and implement tax optimization strategies that reduce liabilities while remaining fully compliant.
• Oversee transfer pricing documentation and ensure cross‑border transactions meet domestic and international standards.
• Produce monthly and quarterly tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and cash‑flow forecasts for corporate reporting.
• Monitor changes in Ghanaian fiscal policy and assess impact on the telecommunications sector.
• Lead, mentor and develop the internal tax team.
• Provide tax expertise to the Finance Director for ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAG or CITG).
• 6‑8 years post‑qualification tax experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in the telecommunications industry or a Big‑4 firm serving telecom clients.
• Strong knowledge of Ghana’s tax legislation and telecom regulatory environment.
