Winder CIC Supervisor

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is finalising the redevelopment of the Obuasi underground gold mine. The Winder CIC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality, safety and performance of the winding instrumentation and equipment, ensuring compliance with operational and engineering standards while maximising plant availability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control the quality of Winder CIC technicians and winding equipment to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Apply total quality management principles and adhere to the site’s Environmental Management Plan.
• Coordinate all Winder instrumentation refurbishment and later maintenance, verifying work on the Safe Wind System installation.
• Review refurbishment activities, identify continuous‑improvement actions and report performance to the CIC Superintendent – Underground.
• Develop and execute condition‑monitoring routes and checks for correct equipment functioning.
• Perform visual, electrical integrity and calibration checks during scheduled maintenance.
• Analyse predictive‑maintenance data (vibration, infrared) to assess plant condition and trigger corrective actions.
• Monitor the physical condition of instrumentation assets and generate SAP work requests for planning and scheduling.
• Collect and interpret data using advanced portable data collectors to diagnose rotating‑machinery issues.
• Participate in maintenance review programmes and root‑cause failure analysis for Winder instrumentation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in underground mining or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
• Strong understanding of safety, operational and engineering policies.
• Familiarity with total quality management and environmental compliance.
