Administrative Officer – Fixed Term – Accra, Ghana

About the role

The Administrative Officer will provide efficient and cost‑effective administrative support services for UNICEF’s office in Accra. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures that all administrative operations comply with UNICEF policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the implementation and continuous improvement of administrative policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Advise management on administrative planning, risk mitigation and process optimisation.
• Oversee contract management, procurement support and compliance with organisational rules.
• Support strategic budget planning, monitoring and financial control for office operations.
• Manage day‑to‑day administrative services, including office logistics, facilities, and staff supervision.
• Ensure effective service delivery and coordination with other UNICEF units and external partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in administrative management within an international or NGO setting.
• Strong understanding of policy implementation, compliance and risk management.
• Ability to lead and supervise administrative staff and coordinate cross‑functional support services.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
