Analyst – Local Unit Finance & Records

About the role

Under the direction of the Area Local Unit Manager, the Analyst serves as the area expert on local‑unit finance and membership record‑keeping. The role provides consulting advice, training and oversight to Local Unit leaders and clerks, ensuring that all financial transactions and records are managed in a legal, professional and timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard sacred funds and improve financial and record‑keeping processes.
• Train and advise local‑unit leaders, analysts and clerks on finance policies, membership record‑keeping principles and Church handbook requirements.
• Prepare and submit accurate financial and statistical reports to Church headquarters, the Area Presidency and other departments.
• Analyze local‑unit trends, identify performance gaps and support the development of the Long‑Term Resource Plan.
• Assist with finance and membership audits, internal control reviews and resolution of application malfunctions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of post‑degree experience, preferably in strategy consulting or an internal strategy group.
• Demonstrated ability to present high‑level proposals to senior executives.
• Thorough knowledge of the Church Handbook and local‑unit record‑keeping policies.
• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• PowerPoint for high‑impact presentations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and automated accounting/reporting software.
• Computer application troubleshooting in a networked environment.
