Applied Data Scientist

About the role

Zof AI is seeking an Applied Data Scientist to measure how well its agent fleets find and fix defects. The role owns the product metrics such as detection precision, recall, remediation success rates, and experiment design, ensuring statistical rigor separates real improvements from noise.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own metrics describing defect detection and remediation performance.
• Measure detection precision and recall against real customer codebases.
• Quantify remediation success rates and validate evidence strength.
• Design experiments to evaluate product or model changes.
• Partner with engineering on evaluation design for consistent scoring.
• Build reproducible analysis pipelines in Python and SQL.
• Translate findings into clear recommendations for engineering, product, and leadership.
• Own reporting to keep product claims evidence‑based.

Required profile

• Strong fluency with Python and SQL.
• Solid grounding in statistics, experiment design, and inference.
• Experience analyzing messy real‑world data and drawing defensible conclusions.
• Ability to turn fuzzy questions into actionable metrics.
• Comfort reasoning about causality, bias, and confounding.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Proven analysis that changed a decision.
