Assistant Daycare Caregiver

About the role

Petite Elise Preschool is seeking a compassionate Assistant Daycare Caregiver to join its team in Accra. This full‑time, on‑site position supports lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and hygiene routines.
• Supervise children during play, learning activities, and transitions.
• Maintain clean, organized classroom spaces and prepare materials for lessons and games.
• Support drop‑off and pick‑up procedures and communicate observations to the teaching team.
• Follow health, safety, and cleanliness guidelines, including lifting and assisting young children as needed.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to provide attentive, compassionate care to infants and young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and family interaction.
• Reliability, patience, and calmness in a busy childcare setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; childcare, first‑aid or CPR certificates are a plus.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of child development principles.
• Experience with feeding, hygiene, and comfort care for young children.
• Ability to follow established childcare policies and routines.
