Business Manager for Glass Manufacturing Project

About the role

We are looking for a Business Manager to act as the strategic liaison for our new glass manufacturing project in Ghana. The role ensures legal, social, and operational foundations are secured, enabling smooth integration of infrastructure and full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage land transfer procedures, coordinating with the Lands Commission for leasehold and title registration.
• Build and maintain relationships with Traditional Councils and local Chiefs, resolving boundary or compensation disputes.
• Coordinate local labor needs and community expectations to prevent protests during construction.
• Lead negotiations with GRIDCo/ECG for high‑voltage grid connection and with GWCL for water supply.
• Secure gas supply by working with GNPC and Ghana Gas, overseeing gas station construction and price agreements.
• Oversee local contractors for site leveling and access‑road construction.
• Handle registration with GIPC, apply for customs duty exemptions, and manage port clearance of industrial equipment.
• Lead Free Zone application and obtain related tax benefits.
• Obtain and renew all required permits (EPA, GSA, GNFS, building permits) and act as primary contact for immigration and police services.
• Manage crisis response and security coordination with authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in large‑scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects in Ghana.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ghanaian government processes, the Land Act, and relevant regulatory bodies.
• Established communication channels with Customs, Lands Commission, ECG/GRIDCo, or energy sector entities.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• High‑level diplomatic and negotiation skills.
• Experience with Free Zone applications and management.
• Familiarity with glass manufacturing or heavy‑industrial projects.
