Business Manager – Logistics & Freight Forwarding

About the role

HRLeverage is seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead freight forwarding, haulage and warehousing operations across Ghana and the ECOWAS/ECCAS region. The role combines operational oversight with commercial strategy to drive growth, manage key accounts and ensure profitable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of freight, haulage and warehousing services, ensuring compliance with SOPs and customer expectations.
• Develop and enforce operational policies, monitor KPIs, and manage branch performance against revenue and profitability targets.
• Supervise contract execution from award to client hand‑over and coordinate integrated solutions across business units.
• Support finance functions including credit control, collections and profit‑share recovery from international partners.
• Collaborate with Business Development on bids, tenders and proposals; represent the company at trade events.
• Lead, mentor and develop staff, ensuring training, knowledge transfer and capacity building.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of senior‑level experience in logistics, freight forwarding or related transport services.
• Proven track record in managing operations, driving revenue growth and maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyse market dynamics and identify growth opportunities.
• Excellent leadership and team‑development skills.
