Business Manager (Logistics, Freight Forwarding)

About the role

HRLeverage is seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead the freight forwarding, haulage and warehousing operations for a client across Ghana and the wider ECOWAS/ECCAS region. The role combines operational oversight, commercial strategy and team leadership to drive growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of freight, haulage and warehousing services, ensuring compliance with SOPs and customer SLAs.
• Develop, implement and enforce operational policies to improve efficiency and meet KPI targets for service delivery, revenue and profit.
• Manage branch performance, coordinate cross‑functional delivery of contracts from award to hand‑over, and support finance with credit control and collections.
• Collaborate with Business Development on bids, tenders and proposals; represent the company at trade events and stakeholder meetings.
• Lead, mentor and train staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of senior‑level experience in logistics, freight forwarding or related sectors.
• Proven track record in managing operations, driving revenue growth and handling key accounts.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cross‑border trade within the ECOWAS region.
