Business Unit Head – SEZ Commodities Trading

About the role

The Business Unit Head will lead the SEZ business unit across selected African countries, overseeing Agri and non‑Agri commodities trading and processing. This senior position combines P&L responsibility, sales leadership, and operational oversight in a fast‑growing multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall P&L and operations of the SEZ business unit, including management of key personnel.
• Drive sales of SEZ assets to Indian, African and global investors by pitching the value proposition of investing in Africa.
• Oversee procurement, logistics and supply‑chain functions to secure optimal commodity pricing and inform trading, risk‑mitigation and processing decisions.
• Plan and manage logistics to support efficient commodity trading and processing activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across Africa and internationally to ensure seamless business execution.
• Implement risk‑mitigation strategies related to commodity trading and processing.
• Champion commercial acumen and entrepreneurial solutions to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of sales, marketing and P&L management experience in the FMCG/consumer goods industry, preferably in India.
• Proven capability to manage large business units with full P&L responsibility and lead key personnel.
• Engineering degree and MBA from a premium business school (strongly preferred).
• Willingness to relocate to Africa, potentially with family, to lead business units on the continent.
