CIC-Pastefill Technician – Mining Operations

About the role

The Technician, CIC‑Pastefill is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and operation of control, instrumentation and communication (CIC) systems in the pastefill area of the Obuasi Gold Mine. The role ensures plant availability, safety and compliance with engineering standards while supporting the Pastefill operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate CIC equipment to meet design parameters, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Execute weekly preventive maintenance and refurbishment tasks in line with OEM standards.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify anomalies, and provide timely reports to the E&I Supervisor – Pastefill.
• Coordinate with contractors for CIC refurbishment works and ensure work orders are closed in SAP.
• Support environmental and safety compliance by conducting inspections, audits and reporting hazards.

Required profile

• Technician II Certificate or equivalent.
• Associate degree or technical diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field.
• 1–2 years of technical experience, preferably in the mining industry.
• MINCOM certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong CIC and electronics maintenance capability.
• Knowledge of fixed plant operations and CIC standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot faults in CIC and electronics systems.
• Competence in using SAP for work‑order management.
