CIC Supervisor – Underground

About the role

The CIC Supervisor – Underground is responsible for monitoring and controlling the output of the underground CIC refurbishment team, ensuring plant availability, cost‑effectiveness and safety while supporting AngloGold Ashanti’s modernisation of the Obuasi mine.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise CIC refurbishment and later maintenance work, including visual, infrared, ultrasonic, motor current, flux and simple NDT inspections.
• Gather, analyse and trend predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) to assess plant condition and trigger corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic audits, reviews and root‑cause failure analyses of CIC equipment to drive continuous improvement.
• Generate work requests in SAP PM, coordinate contractors, and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives and propose savings projects.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics/Communications or related field.
• 5+ years experience in electronics/instrumentation maintenance supervision, preferably in mining infrastructure.
• Experience managing Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC) and project management.
• Supervisory Managers Certificate of Competency from the Mineral Commission of Ghana.
• Strong analytical, commercial and legal awareness in mining environments.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance in mining or extractive metallurgy.
• Predictive maintenance techniques: vibration analysis, infrared and ultrasonic data collection.
• Motor current and flux data analysis.
• Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) basics.
• SAP PM module for work request creation and scheduling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel.
• Knowledge of AGA standards, OEM legalities and mining regulations.
