Clinical Oncology Specialist (Full‑time)

About the role

The Clinical Oncology Specialist will join Bahir Dar University’s health services in the Greater Accra Region, providing comprehensive cancer care to patients. Working on‑site full‑time, the specialist collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver evidence‑based, person‑centered treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Review patients’ clinical histories and interpret diagnostic tests to determine cancer stage and appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe, administer and monitor chemotherapy, targeted therapies and supportive medications while ensuring safe drug handling.
• Participate in clinical research projects, contribute to protocol development and collect study data.
• Support education and training activities for medical staff and students.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with institutional and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with advanced training or specialization in oncology; board certification or eligibility is a plus.
• Current professional registration in good standing and eligibility to practice in Ghana.
• Strong clinical experience in cancer diagnosis, staging and management across multiple tumor types.
• Experience in hospital or clinical settings and participation in research activities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary, culturally diverse teams.
