Cloud & AI Technical Lead

About the role

The Cloud & AI Technical Lead will drive technical discovery, architecture design, and delivery standards for Onyx Cloud & AI engagements. You will stay close to implementation while guiding customers through migrations, modernisation, and managed services. The role blends customer interaction, cloud design, platform engineering, observability and mentoring.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with engineering, platform, SRE, security and leadership teams.
• Design secure, resilient, observable and cost‑aware AWS or Azure architectures for migrations and managed services.
• Guide engineers on Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, networking, IAM, observability and production troubleshooting.
• Review architecture, implementation plans, risks, estimates and documentation before delivery.
• Own technical quality during major incidents, migrations, platform changes and complex escalations.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on cloud engineering experience (4+ years) in production environments, with depth in AWS or Azure.
• Practical experience with Linux, networking, IAM, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Git and cloud security fundamentals.
• Proven ability to design target architectures, migration plans, operating models and technical documentation.
• Confidence presenting technical evidence, risk, trade‑offs and recommendations to customers and technology leaders.
