College Librarian – Lead Library Services

About the role

The College Librarian leads the library in supporting the institution’s teaching and research mission. Reporting to senior management, the role combines strategic vision, operational oversight and community engagement to ensure the library meets the academic needs of staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership as the professional and administrative head of the college library.
• Develop, implement and monitor a strategic plan for library services, collections and technology.
• Establish and maintain efficient policies, procedures and systems for library operations.
• Direct and coordinate library staff, services, collections and external relations.
• Represent the library in college administration committees and external collaborations.
• Collaborate with national and international libraries and organisations to stay abreast of developments and best practices.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Library and Information Science or a related field.
• Minimum four years experience as Deputy Librarian or equivalent senior library position in a college of education.
• Analytical, critical and research‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to serve at least one term of four years before reaching the retirement age of 60.
