Commercial Manager – West Africa

About the role

SEMS Exploration Services is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead its commercial activities across Francophone and Anglophone West Africa. Based in Accra, the role will combine business development, contract negotiation and branding to turn technical expertise into revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional commercial strategy in partnership with the CFO, targeting high‑margin service lines.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with explorers, miners, licence owners and government‑linked entities.
• Lead proposal preparation, presentations and commercial negotiations.
• Design, negotiate and manage client contracts and region‑wide support packages.
• Create pricing models, set margin targets and monitor profitability.
• Establish strategic partnerships with global organisations operating in Africa.
• Define and strengthen SEMS’ brand positioning and marketing activities.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably within the West African mining industry.
• Proven track record in business development, commercial strategy and contract negotiation.
• Strong understanding of local content advantages and regional market dynamics.
• Ability to work from the Accra office and travel regularly to Abidjan and Ouagadougou.
