Consultant – Climate‑Sensitive Disease Reporting & Analytics on National HMIS

About the role
The World Health Organization is seeking an external consultant to lead the development and integration of climate‑sensitive disease reporting and analytics on Ghana's national Health Management Information System (HMIS). The role supports a joint UNDP‑WHO programme aimed at strengthening digital health, AI governance, and resilience to climate‑related health threats.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement disaggregated reporting modules for climate‑sensitive diseases within the national HMIS platform.
- Integrate AI‑driven analytics and early‑warning models with DHIS2 to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to align data flows with national priorities and privacy standards.
- Build capacity of health institutions and workforce through training on AI governance, data security, and digital literacy.
- Provide technical guidance for responsible private‑sector engagement in AI solutions.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in digital health, health informatics, or AI‑enabled public health projects.
- Proven track record of working with national health information systems, preferably DHIS2.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical AI principles in health contexts.
- Experience in capacity‑building and stakeholder engagement in low‑ and middle‑income settings.
