About the role
The Migration Health Assessment Centre in Accra seeks a Consultant Migration Health Physician to step up during a colleague’s leave. You will provide comprehensive pre‑migration health assessments and support complex medical cases across West and Central Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Provide remote support for sub‑regional pre‑migration health services and deliver trainings.
- Conduct medical assessments, fitness‑to‑travel reviews, and immigration medical examinations for migrants and refugees.
- Manage pre‑embarkation checks, coordinate complex cases with the regional health team, and offer technical advice on referral pathways.
- Contribute to medical incident reviews, quality improvement processes, and oversee vaccination and TB screening activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine.
- Minimum 4 years of clinical medicine experience with a focus on migration health.
- Proficiency in English, with strong communication and customer care abilities.
Required skills
- Familiarity with IOM MHD databases: MIMOSA, Emedical, and Teleradiology.
