Consultant – Newborn Pre‑transport Curriculum Development

About the role

Project HOPE, in partnership with the Ghana Health Service and the National Ambulance Service, seeks an experienced consultant to lead the technical development of a national competency‑based curriculum for newborn pre‑transport stabilization and care.

Key responsibilities

• Design a comprehensive, competency‑based national curriculum covering all aspects of newborn pre‑transport stabilization and care.
• Develop standardized training materials, facilitator guides, participant handbooks, and competency assessment tools.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations and lead the technical validation process for the curriculum.
• Create a Training‑of‑Trainers (ToT) package for national and regional master trainers.
• Develop an implementation framework to embed the curriculum within NAS training systems and continuing professional development programmes.
• Produce supportive supervision, mentorship, and quality‑improvement tools to sustain implementation.

Required profile

• Qualified consultant with proven expertise in newborn and neonatal care, especially pre‑transport stabilization.
• Demonstrated experience in competency‑based curriculum design and health‑sector training material development.
• Strong background in stakeholder engagement and technical validation processes.
• Ability to develop implementation frameworks, supervision, and mentorship tools for health programmes.
