Cost Specialist – Project Cost Management

About the role

The Cost Specialist will deliver a complete suite of cost‑control services and estimation support for AngloGold Ashanti projects in Ghana. You will develop and implement cost‑management processes, providing accurate and timely cost information to project managers, stakeholders, and the wider project team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed project cost models, business plans and control budgets using technical specifications.
• Prepare and update project cost reports, forecasts, cash‑flow projections, variance and trend analyses for management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of work breakdown structures (WBS) and cost breakdown structures (CBS) with Project Leads and Planning teams.
• Implement and monitor costs throughout each project stage and across the full project lifecycle.
• Perform quality assurance on contractor cost‑management performance and conduct internal and external benchmarking.
• Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders, material deliveries and other financial information.
• Provide cost input to change‑management procedures and support approval processes for contractor payments and progress claims.
• Undertake monthly reconciliation, cost forecasting and support reporting aligned to weekly, monthly and 12‑week schedules.
• Support project handovers, closures and ensure adherence to site safety requirements and AngloGold Ashanti’s values.
