Credit Scoring & Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Credit Scoring & Data Scientist to join our analytics team in Accra. You will design, develop, and maintain advanced credit risk models that help us make informed lending decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain credit scoring models (PD, scorecards, machine‑learning models) to predict customer default risk.
• Design statistical and machine‑learning solutions using regression, decision trees, neural networks, and other techniques.
• Enhance underwriting models to improve loan approval accuracy and risk segmentation.
• Validate models for accuracy, stability, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze customer behavior, transaction history, and alternative data sources to uncover credit‑risk patterns.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visual insights to support credit decision‑making.
• Monitor model performance through metrics and dashboards and integrate ML solutions into existing business workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data science or analytics with a focus on credit risk modeling.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or senior technical capacity.
• Experience in a financial institution is an advantage.
