Custodian (Part-Time) – 20 hrs/week

About the role

This part‑time custodial position supports the daily operation of church facilities in Accra, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for worship, teaching, and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Clean offices, restrooms, public areas and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, mirrors, windowsills, and walls.
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment including vacuums, buffers, scrubbers, sweepers and extraction units.
• Sanitize surfaces, mop floors, dust furnishings, and spot‑clean carpets, rugs and upholstery.
• Dispose of trash and waste, perform emergency clean‑ups (floods, spills, bodily fluids) and restock supplies.
• Move furniture, remove leaves, set up meeting rooms, and carry out minor repairs.
• Report safety or security issues, attend meetings and be available for on‑call duties as required.

Required profile

• Understanding of custodial procedures, supplies and equipment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Capability to work independently or as part of a team without constant supervision.
• Good health, ability to work odd hours and comply with chemical‑handling regulations.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to understand and write English for general communication and safety instructions.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial‑grade cleaning equipment (buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums).
• Use of basic hand tools for minor repairs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
