Director, Institutional Advancement

About the role

The University of Ghana seeks a senior leader to head its Institutional Advancement Directorate. Reporting to the Vice‑Chancellor, the Director will drive alumni engagement, fundraising and strategic partnerships to support the university’s mission and vision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance relationships with alumni, industry and the business community while promoting the university’s brand.
• Formulate and implement fundraising strategies to secure resources for the university’s development goals.
• Collaborate with the Public Affairs Directorate to promote goodwill and maintain a positive institutional image.
• Support university units in achieving their fundraising and partnership objectives.
• Provide strategic input for the UG Strategic Plan and future planning.
• Design initiatives to maximise donor support and institutional growth.

Required profile

• First and advanced degrees with at least 12 years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in higher education.
• Strong strategic, interpersonal and collegial skills suitable for the higher‑education sector.
• Good business sense and deep understanding of top‑level university management and administration.
• High‑level analytical abilities and demonstrable leadership competence.
