Electrical Supervisor – Underground

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a fully mechanised underground operation. The Electrical Supervisor – Underground will lead the refurbishment, maintenance and condition monitoring of underground electrical assets to maximise plant availability and minimise risk.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct periodic audits and visual inspections of underground electrical equipment such as secondary fans and cabling.
• Execute refurbishment and maintenance checks, including vibration, infrared, ultrasonic and motor current data collection.
• Analyse predictive maintenance data, generate work requests in SAP and coordinate contractors to meet schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance on the asset health system, report issues and drive improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Management.
• At least 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in an underground mining environment.
• Supervisors Certificate of Competency from the Mineral Commission of Ghana.
• Experience managing maintenance contracts and project delivery.

Required skills

• Strong electrical maintenance competencies in a mining setting.
• Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module.
• Technical expertise in vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing and other NDT methods.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools: PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel.
