Electrical Technician – Process Plant

About the role

The Electrical Technician for the Process Plant supports the Supervisor, Electrical – Process Plant in delivering all plant electrical maintenance activities. The role covers day and night shifts, including relief duties, and ensures safe, compliant refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of underground infrastructure at the Obuasi Gold Mine.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance and refurbishment tasks in line with Ghana government and AGAG safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct daily pre‑start checks of equipment and tools, reporting any anomalies.
• Interface with contractors and construction teams to coordinate electrical work for refurbishment projects.
• Follow operating procedures, environmental management plans, and incident reporting protocols.
• Attend required training and development sessions.
• Prepare checklists, assess required equipment, and transport tools needed for each task.

Required profile

• Willingness to work day, night and relief shifts.
• Commitment to personal health and safety and that of all mine workers.
• Ability to comply with Ghana government, environmental, health and safety legislation and AGAG regulations.
• Proactive attitude towards preventing environmental pollution and reporting deviations.
