Environment and Climate Change (ECC) Technical Expert

About the role

The Accelerating Change Through Innovation in Agricultural TVET (ACTIVATE) project, led by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) with support from the Mastercard Foundation, is seeking an Environment and Climate Change (ECC) Technical Expert. The consultant will provide specialised technical assistance to formal agricultural TVET institutions in Ghana, helping them integrate climate‑resilient and green‑skill content into curricula and campus operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the rollout of ECC‑integrated competency‑based training curricula in partnership with the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET).
• Develop a comprehensive ECC Training Delivery Manual for facilitators.
• Guide facilitators on updated Occupational and Unit Standards for Specialized Agricultural Services at National Certificate I (Level 3) and II (Level 4), covering environmental risk identification, climate‑smart service delivery, waste management and sustainable animal nutrition.
• Assist partner institutions in designing and implementing campus greening action plans that reduce environmental footprints and provide practical learning environments.
• Provide capacity‑building workshops and on‑the‑job coaching for ATVET staff and project partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental and climate‑change integration within agricultural education or training programmes.
• Familiarity with Ghana’s TVET system and the CTVET framework.
• Strong background in curriculum development and competency‑based training.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement institutional greening initiatives.
