Field Officer – Rural Agriculture Development

About the role

Sustainability Management Services (SMS) is looking for self‑motivated Field Officers to support the implementation of its agricultural programmes in the Twifo Praso district. The role involves coordinating training, supervising farmer programmes and ensuring compliance with certification standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the district’s annual work plan and monitor its execution.
• Directly supervise farmer‑focused programmes such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and additional livelihood projects.
• Oversee the district’s annual certification audit and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate all training activities for cocoa producers.
• Manage and assess a team of Field Trainers operating in the district.
• Support Farm Supervisors and collaborate with Ministry of Food and Agriculture technical officers and research institutions.
• Maintain relationships with district franchise holders and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare weekly operational reports and safeguard company assets.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and the local language(s) of the district.
• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business, Economics, Development or a related field.
• Certificate in Agriculture is preferred.
