Field Services Technician – Vibration Specialist (Mining)

About the role

SKF is seeking two vibration specialists to deliver predictive maintenance services and customer training for mining assets across the West African region. The role is a temporary contract based in Ghana with a 6‑week on‑site rotation followed by a 2‑week break.

Key responsibilities

• Perform condition‑based maintenance (CBM/PdM) activities, including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, visual inspections, oil sampling and motor current signature analysis.
• Manage schedules for root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance at customer sites.
• Compile detailed reports with findings, recommendations and corrective action plans within agreed timeframes.
• Provide on‑site training and coaching to customers and promote SKF service portfolio.
• Track and report monthly performance metrics, cost avoidance and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Category II Vibration Analyst certification (ISO 18436) and Level I Infrared Thermography certification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in reliability service work within a maintenance engineering environment.
• Proficient with PC‑based software (MS Office) and exposure to SAP‑PM or other CMMS.
• Strong customer‑service attitude and good level of English.
